UNIT 6. What are igneous rocks?
Igneous rocks are formed which are formed when magma cools and solidifies. There are two types of igneous rock:
1) Volcanic or extrusive igneous rock
Examples of volcanic rocks: Volcanic scoria, pumice stone, obsidian, basalt
2) Plutonic or intrusive igneous rock
Examples of plutonic rocks: Granite, pegmatite, syenite, gabbro
